Lobster bustle

Today was all about adventures in cartridge pleating. I’m working hard on my 1580s Italian peasant dress, and I hope tomorrow to draft up and cut my daughter’s.

Of course, I can’t just think about one (two?) things at once. So I found out about the Labrynth of Jareth Masquerade. How did I not know of this earlier? So of course I spent many sleepless hours designing costumes in my head. I have one idea involving a cage crinoline. Sketches soon, I hope. Anyhow, I was looking for patterns and I stumbled upon this from Truly Victorian.
The sketch looks just like a lobster tail! I wonder if it works up like one? Because I will totally make a Victorian lobster masquerade costume. Just watch me.
